The CCM12-MK3 is a compact coaxial monitor packed with features designed for professional artists, which also works excellently as a main or fill monitor for venues with limited space.
C = Compact - Small footprint, minimal front surface, lightweight. The front of the cabinet is 50% smaller than most 12” monitors with a separate tweeter horn, taking up less space on stage and anywhere else you need the power of a 12” 2-way monitor. The driver has a Neodymium motor, and the Class D amplifier uses a lightweight switching power supply. The cabinet is made of birch plywood, heavier than plastic, but the wood’s strength lets the cabinet be made smaller while sounding better.
C = Co-Axial - Absolutely consistent coverage pattern, highly resistant to feedback. This coaxial driver delivers a conical 80-degree coverage pattern that stays consistent off-axis. The benefit is twofold. First, this consistency lets the performer or listener move freely within the pattern without the sound character changing. Conventional 2-way monitors have the tweeter above, beside, or below the woofer, giving a different frequency response as you move left to right or front to back. This makes feedback much harder to prevent, since the response peaks shift in frequency as you move through their inconsistent patterns, triggering feedback every time a microphone moves. A coaxial design stays far more consistent wherever you move, which benefits both artists and audience. Besides a more consistent, more intelligible sound field, the biggest advantage of the symmetrical coaxial monitor’s consistency may be its relative immunity to feedback.
M = Monitor - 3 different upward angles plus straight-ahead, and fly-points and brackets for ceiling and wall mounting. The first angle suits standing performers who like their monitors at their feet. Think vocalists, with or without instruments, who need clear monitoring when stepping up to the mic and like being able to step out of coverage at will. The second angle suits seated performers who want the monitor aimed slightly lower. Whether you play keyboards, drums, or slide guitar, the monitor should aim at your head, not over it. This lower angle can also cover a wider area further from the monitor, such as a choir, backing vocalists, or a horn section. The third angle is for placement on a subwoofer or table. Think drummers who want the monitor on a sub, or anyone working with electronics on a table who wants near-field monitors placed on their work surface and aimed correctly. There’s one more placement angle for using the CCM as a monitor: straight ahead. The CCM has a pole mount, so it can sit on a pole above a sub or on a stand, for DJ monitors or stage side-fills. Though not strictly a “monitor” position, the CCM can also serve as a front-fill at the edge of the stage or on a center-cluster subwoofer array. And if you want to mount a monitor on the wall or ceiling, the CCM has M10 fly-points; the internally reinforced fly-points can also be used to mount the CCM to a wall or ceiling bracket.
