Description
A reliable XLR microphone cable is the cheapest insurance you'll buy. The 4all Audio MIC021 is exactly that cable: balanced, properly shielded and built to simply do its job night after night.
The MIC021 pairs two 0.22 mm² OFC conductors with a spiral-wound copper shield that covers 99% of the core. Hum from dimmers, mains cables or a sloppily run multicore stays out of your signal. The soft PVC jacket rolls out fast, coils neatly and stays flexible from -20°C to +70°C. Thanks to the low capacitance of 68 pF/m, vocals keep their clarity even when the run gets a little longer.
Key features
- Balanced connection: clean signal, even next to lighting cables
- 99% shield coverage keeps hum and radio interference out
- Oxygen-free copper (OFC) for low resistance and stable highs
- Soft jacket: quick to roll out, tidy to coil, no cable fights
- Low capacitance per core, so less signal loss on longer runs
- Rated from -20°C to +70°C, so winter outdoor events are no problem
- Standard 3-pin XLR: fits every microphone, mixer and DI box

Pro Tip: Never run microphone cables parallel to mains cables over longer distances; cross them at 90 degrees where needed. Good shielding helps, but distance is still the best noise filter.
FAQ
Is this cable balanced?
Yes. Two conductors plus a shield, so it suits microphones and balanced line signals between professional equipment.
Can I use the MIC021 as a DMX cable?
Better not. Its 100 ohm impedance differs from the 110 ohms DMX512 calls for. Over short distances it often works, but for reliable lighting control choose a proper DMX cable.
Does oxygen-free copper make a real difference?
Mostly on longer runs: lower resistance means less signal loss and steadier highs. Over short distances the difference is small, but the cable ages a lot better.
What length do I need?
Measure the distance between microphone and mixer and add a metre for slack and tidy routing. Slightly too long beats pulled tight.
