Description
The Akai Professional MPK249 is designed as an all-in-one controller solution, a performance pad and keyboard controller that combines deep software integration, an improved workflow and core technologies from the iconic MPC line of workstations. Every member of Akai Pro's MPK series comes fully loaded with a comprehensive interface for manipulating virtual instruments, effect plugins, DAWs and more. The MPK249 has 49 semi-weighted keys with aftertouch, 8 assignable knobs, faders and switches, 16 MPC-style pads with RGB feedback and built-in transport controls. Three banks expand the number of knobs, faders and switches (up to 24 each), and four pad banks expand the number of pads (up to 64 total). The MPK249 is also optimized for direct connection to your Mac or PC with USB power and plug-and-play connectivity.

MPK249 is equipped with 49 semi-weighted, full-size keys and a premium piano-style keybed for unmatched response and a natural feel. Every key is velocity-sensitive and features aftertouch for dynamic, expressive performances and recordings. Plus, with the Octave Up and Down controls, players can access the full melodic range: play basslines, piano harmony, solo leads and much more.

Production software
The MPK249 comes equipped with powerful production software - Ableton Live Lite and MPC Beats - for out-of-the-box music creation. MPC Beats is a free, fully-featured beatmaking DAW software for both Mac and PC, built on the legendary MPC workflow. It also works as a VST plugin in any major DAW.
