Description

The brand-new Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX4!

As the successor to the steadfast and successful DDJ-400, the new Pioneer DJ DDJ FLX4 is ready to jumpstart your DJ career. This compact yet full-featured 2-channel DJ controller has everything beginner DJs need to quickly and easily get comfortable creating smooth transitions, loops, cuts and hot cueing. The Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX4 also features the well-known Pioneer DJ club layout, adopted from the professional Pioneer DJ gear used at the biggest events around the world. Thanks to its solid build, the Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX4 is also your ideal travel companion for DJing anywhere, anytime.

As usual, the Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX4 comes with a free license to fully use Rekordbox (performance mode, export mode, etc). As soon as the controller is plugged into your laptop, this license key activates and lets the user download Rekordbox. You can then also make use of streaming platforms including TIDAL, Beatport, Beatsource or SoundCloud Go+, since these are compatible with Rekordbox. Beginner DJs can also use the built-in tutorials in Rekordbox, which guide them through the DJ software and its capabilities.

But it doesn't stop there — unlike its predecessor, the Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX4 is now also compatible with Serato DJ. This means Serato DJ fans can now enjoy the FLX4 controller too. Users can DJ with the free Serato DJ Lite version, and if you'd rather work with Serato DJ Pro, an additional license can be purchased.

New Smart Mixing Features give beginner DJs a helping hand

The Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX4 is equipped with the new Smart Mixing Feature for smooth yet professional transitions. Using smart faders, the volume, bass level and BPM are automatically adjusted so that moving the channel faders or crossfader lets you easily create transitions from one track to another. This feature helps beginner DJs get used to the various techniques for mixing tracks together.

Our opinion

This is a very good controller for anyone looking to explore DJing, and it's a worthy successor to the Pioneer DJ DDJ-400, which was already one of the best controllers in its price range in its own right. The FLX4 may be compact, but it packs an enormous range of features that let you get the same sound out of your deck as professional DJ gear. A real recommendation!
