Description
The SPL5 is the more extensive version of the SPL3TS. The sound level is registered by the microphone and processed by the DSP. The output level is corrected when necessary.
In live situations, the SPL5 MKII can be used to monitor sound pressure. If necessary, the SPL5 can cut the power supply to the stage equipment. The band can be warned in advance by means of a light. In a non-live situation, meaning the music is played through the connected PA system, the SPL5 is connected between the mixer and the power amplifiers. The measured microphone level is used to determine the output attenuation.
A new feature of the SPL5 is the ability to store sound pressure data in its internal memory. The data is retained for a period of two months, so the SPL5 is not only a limiter but also a decibel logger. The PC software can be used to read the data from the limiter, and the limiter is configured using the same software. Before any changes can be made to the system, the software must be registered, which makes it impossible for unauthorized persons to modify the system.
With this software, it is also possible to control and read out the limiter over a computer network, or even over the Internet!
