FAQ
Does this transmitter work on its own?
No, the transmitter forms a set with the Free Color WI1 Receiver on your fixture side. You set the transmitter and receiver to the same frequency color; once the connection is active, the LED on the receiver blinks green rapidly.
Is the 400-meter range achievable indoors too?
The 400 meters applies with a clear line of sight. Walls, truss, the crowd and other obstacles reduce the range. For most venues and stages, there's still plenty of margin left.
What if there's interference on the 2.4 GHz band?
Press the frequency button and switch to one of the other five groups. At busy venues with lots of Wi-Fi, it pays to find the quietest frequency in advance.
Is wireless DMX as fast as a cable?
Every wireless DMX system can have a tiny delay and, very occasionally, a small hiccup. In practice you won't notice this for most lighting applications; only for extremely timing-critical shows does a cable remain the reference.
