The black Pioneer DJ DM-40D is a stunning pair of high-quality monitor speakers. They work great as studio monitors, but also as powerful speakers next to a computer or DJ controller. When you flip the switch, the DSP settings are automatically optimized. Using the RCA input, 3.5 mm mini-jack, and the new TRS input, you can connect external devices such as a DJ controller, mixer, or laptop to your Pioneer DJ DM-40D speakers. The grooves on the sides of the Pioneer DJ DM-40D speakers reduce air resistance, giving you punchy bass even when the speakers are placed against a wall.

The Pioneer DJ DM-40D is a stunning set of high-quality monitor speakers. They work great as studio monitors, but also as powerful speakers next to a computer or DJ controller. Thanks to the 2-way setup with a 4-inch woofer and a perfectly matched tweeter, the Pioneer DJ DM-40D-W delivers tight bass and crystal-clear mids/highs. The Pioneer DJ DM-40D-W is an upgraded version of the Pioneer DJ DM-40 and uses convex DECO diffusers. Thanks to the renewed design and matching diffusers, the Pioneer DJ DM-40D-W offers a noticeably wider 'sweet spot' and a rich, filling 3D stereo sound image.
Optimized for the demanding DJ
The amplifier in the Pioneer DJ DM-40D is a completely newly designed class-D module with 96 kHz sampling DSP. When needed, this provides extra power as you switch the DSP settings from production mode to DJ mode and back via the switch on the rear. This way, you're guaranteed the ideal sound in every situation. Bass reproduction is further optimized by the special grooves on the internal air channels. The rounded edges of the speaker aren't just good-looking — they also minimize resonance, giving you a pure sound at any volume.
Versatile connectivity.
The Pioneer DJ DM-40D is extremely versatile when it comes to connections. On the back, you can use the stereo RCA connections, a mini stereo jack, or the newly added TRS inputs. You can connect a range of devices here. Think of a studio laptop with a sound card for making your own music, a DJ controller, or a mixer.
On the front, the Pioneer DJ DM-40D-W features a handy headphone connection and volume control.

The Pioneer DJ DM-40 was already solid for its budget, but the Pioneer DJ DM-40D is a whole different class of speaker set, even though it comes from the same series. You clearly hear a beautiful stereo image, well-defined lows and sparkling highs. There's definitely a nice balance between lows, mids and highs too.
The 4" woofer just plays tight and punchy, while the highs have a lovely, fresh sound. Also very noticeable is the abundance of power delivered by the renewed amplifier.
