Needle-free DVS control prevents skipping during digital playback
No matter how hard you scratch, you'll never suffer from needle skips when using the PLX-CRSS12 in Digital Vinyl Mode, thanks to its needle-free system. The new MAGVEL CLAMP holds a record firmly in place when you touch it, letting it drive the digital music file directly, so you get the true feel of vinyl without ever needing the tonearm. Playing analog records feels just like the popular PLX-1000 deck.
Performance Pads for precise, fast control
The PLX-CRSS12 inherits the turntable's classic layout, but a new addition is the 4 built-in MIDI-mappable Performance Pads that put your favorite functions within reach. They sit right where you need them - just below the platter - so you can trigger Hot Cues and samples faster than ever, which is even handier when you're playing on a mixer without pads. There's native support for various pad modes, and a dedicated button lets you switch from pads 1-4 to pads 5-8. The pads are also MIDI mappable, so you can assign them to other functions.
Adjustment you can feel
You can quickly adjust the "weight" of the record with the dial on top of the MAGVEL CLAMP. That means you can keep performing effortlessly, with no hassle swapping slipmats or slip sheets.
Adjustable torque level
You can easily adjust the turntable's torque level in the utility settings. Choose "High" for a fast start-up when you hit PLAY, "Low" for the traditional torque level many DJs know well, or "Mid" for a balance between the two.
Adjustable brake
Use the switch on the front of the deck to set how long the turntable takes to stop when you hit STOP. "Min" is sharp. "Mid" uses the traditional stop speed DJs know. And "Max" creates the longest stop speed, for a gradual, dramatic close to a track or set.
OLED display for a quick check on track info
The built-in OLED display also helps you stay focused on the deck. You can keep an eye on the tempo range and key during Step Pitching, and when you connect the PLX-CRSS12 via USB to your PC/Mac with DJ software, you can check BPM, key, and deck-number info. The display also gives you quick access to the utility settings - all of which cuts down on breaking focus to glance at your laptop or mixer during a set.
