Today's market is overflowing with wireless streamers. Most focus only on having a good app, but true sound quality is determined by the quality of the DAC and the analog audio output stage. Aesthetically too, many of these streamers are little more than plastic boxes with no amplifier or other components inside.
The Streambox S2 is very easy to use via its app and offers all the features of modern streamers, including solid multiroom functionality! It supports high-resolution data up to 24-bit / 192kHz, plus the ability to connect multiple Stream Box S2 Multi units to form a multiroom setup.
Multiroom stream quality stays at CD quality (16-bit / 44.1 kHz), which is a huge amount of data for multiroom use and delivers great audio quality. The number of possible zones is limited to 10 or 6 zones (Ethernet or WiFi) to guarantee flawless transmission given the high data rates. Multiroom devices with a large number of zones are usually reduced to max. MP3 quality to guarantee a flawless stream.
In addition, two units can be connected to form a stereo pair (with dedicated left and right channels). If you have active speakers, you can turn them into wireless speakers by placing a Stream Box S2 right next to them. You can then place your speakers freely around the room without worrying about long cables. This gives you more flexibility when setting up a larger lobby or event space with great-sounding background music.
