You want the full Sonos sound in your living room, kitchen or showroom, but no microphone listening in and no premium for voice control you never use. That is exactly where the Sonos Era 100 SL sits: the same acoustics as the Era 100, without built-in microphones and therefore at a sharper price. This compact WiFi speaker with stereo sound and deep bass streams over WiFi, AirPlay 2 or Bluetooth and grows into a stereo pair or surround set. Setup takes a few minutes in the Sonos app.
Two angled tweeters and a powerful midwoofer, driven by three class-D amplifiers, pull a surprisingly wide stereo image out of a cabinet barely 18 cm tall. Trueplay measures the acoustics of your room via an iOS device and tunes the EQ to match. Stream over WiFi 6 for the highest quality, or quickly via Bluetooth 5.3 from any device. The USB-C port even takes a turntable with the separate Line-In Adapter.

Pro Tip Stand the speaker upright on a flat surface and leave at least 2.5 cm free at the back; laid on its side you lose both the acoustic tuning and WiFi range. Run the Trueplay measurement only once the speaker is in its final spot, otherwise the EQ will be off.

FAQ
What is the difference from the regular Era 100?
Acoustically nothing. The SL ("speechless") has no microphones, so no voice assistant and no automatic Trueplay. Drivers, connectivity and app are identical.
Does Bluetooth work without WiFi?
No. The speaker must first be set up over WiFi in the Sonos app. After that you can stream directly via Bluetooth.
Can I use Trueplay with Android?
No. Without microphones, Trueplay only works via an iOS device. Android users set bass and treble manually in the app.
Can I connect a turntable or TV?
A turntable yes, via a 3.5 mm cable and the Sonos Line-In Adapter (sold separately). This connection is not intended for TV; use a Sonos soundbar for that.
